마그리트의 그림 'Ceci n'est pas une pipe / 이것은 파이프가 아니다' 의 패러디 'ceci n’est pas une brand/ 이것은 브랜드가 아니다' 라는 구절로 시작하는 첫장부터 흥미롭다. 마케터의 전략과 디자이너의 감성은 항상 상충한다고들 하는데, 저자는 이 상반되는 성질의 갭을 메울때 경쟁력있는 브랜드가 탄생한다고 말하고 있다. 끝으로 이 양극을 능란하게 조율하여 100%를 발휘하게 하는 브랜드 전문 간부인 CBO가 기업에 필요함을 강조한다. 디자인에 입문하는 학생으로서 적게나마 읽어본 브랜드 관련 서적중 쉽고 재미있게 읽히면서도 얻는 바가 많았던 책이다.
