이로운 곤충이기도 하고 빨간색(다른 색도 있지만) 반질반질한 표면에 예쁜 무늬가 있기도 하고 사람 위에 앉아있다가 갑자기 속옷 드러나듯 날개를 활짝 펴서 날아가는 모습이 우스워서 무당벌레가 참 좋다. 곤충 중에 제일 좋아하는 곤충이다. 다른 곤충이 빨간색이라면 얼마나 무서워 보일까! 가령 빨간색 사마귀라든지 빨간색 나방 등등. 방에 큰 코르크 판이 있는데 무당벌레 모양의 핀들이 박혀 있으니 참 좋다. 심심하면 무당벌레들을 옮겨가며 대열을 바꿔주고 서로 서로 친구를 맺어줄 수도 있다.
